A letter to our incredible Filipino healthcare workers around the globe.
Dearest friends,
Hope you don’t mind, but I just wanted to send you all my personal thanks and gratitude for everything you are doing for us all and your country. Particularly as you are fighting this Covid-19 pandemic for us all.
I am of course incredibly grateful to all healthcare professionals, healthcare workers, porters, domestic and catering staff working on the frontline, regardless of nationality.
But in my capacity as Ambassador of Goodwill for the Philippine Nurses Association of the United Kingdom, I am particularly proud and humbled to see so many incredible Filipino nurses who at this time are 7,000 miles away from their own loved ones, yet they can’t even go back home to the Philippines to see their families, still, they are battling on the frontline, to take care of our loved ones and us all here.
Many have been the bedrock of our National Health Service for decades, with their wonderful care, exceptional skills and wonderful bedside manner and of course radiant smiles and a ‘can do’ attitude, despite incredible pressures we all face in healthcare.
I, for one am incredibly grateful for their sacrifices, as well as their dedication and would ask that we all say a special prayer for their protection and strength as they deal with this new wave of the Covid-19 pandemic and increased pressures they face.
Thinking of you at this time.
Maraming maraming salamat po sa inyong serbisyo.
Malcolm Conlan
Ambassador of Goodwill
Philippine Nurses Association UK
