Passing the Nursing Board is undeniably a steep mountain to climb. They say to pass it with flying and highly soaring colors, that is to top it, requires one to devote himself without partiality during preparation.
Some say that the Nursing schools of origin of board topnotchers are not accountable for the victory of the hero. However, it would be shameful to let one contention pass by that nurses are primarily honed and academically inculcated in their respective schools.
In the December 2013 Nursing Licensure Examination, Lester Sapar, now a registered nurse, made a mark in the history of Philippine nursing as he bagged the second highest spot among all the test takers during that time across the nation. Obviously, aside from his elated family and friends, was the joyous commendation of his alma mater, The University Of Negros Occidental -Recoletos.
The University of Negros Occidental – Recoletos, is a private, Roman Catholic university founded on 1941 in Bacolod, Negros Occidental, Philippines and administered by the Order of Augustinian Recollects.

Presently, the UNO-R College of Nursing is known as the College of Nursing and Allied Health Sciences as other courses, such as Medical Technology and Pharmacy, have been merged with the said college 2 years ago.
