This Nursing School In The Philippines Produced A Beauty Queen

They say a school's excellence is measured by how there products perform and excel later in their professional life and not merely on the marks they had with their quizzes and exams.

Perhaps this Nurse proved that she is worthy of her Alma Mater's commendation.

Kristelle Lazaro,  a graduate of St. Luke's College of Nursing, was crowned Miss Philippines Earth Fire 2008 last May 11, 2008 at Crowne Plaza Galleria. She also won the Cultural Award.

The aim of the school is "Producing competent and world class nurses". Lazaro is now a Registered nurse but she is rather renowned for her pageantry achievement. St. Luke's College of Nursing was established in 1907 after the founding of St. Luke's Hospital and from then on, it has produced several notable alumni such as Vitaliana G. Beltran, R.N, The first Filipina superintendent of nurses who served St. Luke's Hospital for more than forty years and also pioneered the organization of the Filipino Nurses Association in 1922 now known as the Philippine Nurses' Association and Eileen DeCesare, R.N., M.S., C.N.A.A., L.N.C, The Founder, President, and Chief Executive Officer of Professional Healthcare Resources, Inc. in Annandale, Virginia, U.S.A.

The school celebrated its centenary in 2007, St. Luke’s College of Nursing has prided itself through the 100 years as one of the oldest and one of the top performing nursing schools in the Philippines.
