Nursing Leaders And Nurses Hold Unity Walk For A Cause

In connection with the vetoed Comprehensive Nursing Law of 2015, A unity walk was organized by nursing leaders last July 6, 2016 to help the nurses and their goals be heard among concerned agencies and authorities. Led by the Nurse- Entrepreneur Carl E. Balita, together with Ang Nars Cong. Leah Pacquiz, PNA National President Polet Cruz, NLPGN President Adah Silvera, ONE President Dexter Galban, along with delegates from as far as Quezon, Mindoro, Bulacan and Mindanao, and institutions like Phil. Orthopaedic Center and National Center for Mental Health, the group marched from CBRC Espana to the DOH compound in Sta. Cruz, Manila.

The walk was all aimed to encourage nurses to fight for better working conditions and improved health care system in the country. Specifically, the group emphasized the need for an increase in the nurses' salary to help address the massive exodus of nurses from the country and poor employment benefits.
