Byebye, Eyebags!

Nurses have unpredictable work schedules and because they lack sleep, rest and water intake, their eyes get more tired, resulting to skin aging faster.

Skincare product manufacturers will tell you that you need all sorts of things — which, as a smart consumer you should already expect because they’re trying to sell you something.

What you really should be looking at more closely is the idea behind the product. Ask yourself, “Do I really need this product for my skin?”

Skincare And Your Delicate Eyes
There are compelling reasons why an aging skincare regimen must incorporate an eye cream, among which are as follows:

Dry skin needs extra hydration boost. Aging skin is characteristically dry and unable to hold and lock in moisture efficiently.

Skin around the eyes cringe and crease and stretch with every facial expression you make, making this area highly prone to growing wrinkles.

The eye area contains fewer oil glands and a thinner amount of fat layer that does little to protect skin around the eyes from drying out and from external impact, respectively. This makes skin around this parts thinner by as much as 10 times than skin on the rest of the face.

Wrinkles and other multiple signs of skin aging are likely to appear very prominently around the eye area because of thin skin.

The bluish, purplish and reddish colors of thin blood vessels underneath are likely to show through the thin layer of skin covering the area.

The Best Care You Can Give Your Eye Skin

How can you best take care of skin around your eyes then? Here are a few quick tips and tricks that you can take advantage of to enjoy youthful looking eyes even as you grow older:

Protect your eye skin from unnecessary sun exposure.
A little bit of sun is good but, just a little can easily become excessive. Always wear sun protection during the day and make sure that your sunscreen is mild enough to be gentle on your delicate eye skin.

Love your skin clear and bare.  Less products, less problems.
Makeup and skincare products are often laden with harsh ingredients that can cause irritations but, keep in mind, those itchy patches can easily cause lifelong, irreversible damages to your skin. Cleanse and tone twice daily to draw our excess oil, dirt and makeup residue.  Exfoliate regularly too.

Load up with antioxidants and anti-inflammatories, and drink plenty of fluids.
Get plenty of it through a diet that is high on leafy greens, citrus fruits, fatty fish and walnuts. Add a cup or two of black or green tea and drink a glass of red wine everyday. These give your skin additional protection from free radical damage and supports the skin in rebuilding its protective outer layers.

Apply antioxidants on your skin too.  Use products that contain the most powerful combination of antioxidants — Vitamins C and E, and Niacinamide. The last one gives you the added advantage of healthier circulation on capilliaries beneath your eye skin.

Hydrate your skin from within. Drink plenty of fluids.
Kick up your taste buds by blending fresh fruits, herbs and fruits into a yummy shake.

Beauty rest everyday.
Give your body enough time to rest and recuperate. Relax your tired eyes enough not to give you a tired look the following day.

Moisturizing products are good but regenerative creams work best for aging skin.
Go for anti-aging products that give you ingredients to support your skin’s natural ability to repair, renew and regenerate your aging skin. For your eyes, sign up Age Escape or a similar eye product which is especially formulated to give your eye skin the special care it deserves.

It has not always been easy to convert consumers to the idea that an eye cream is necessary to care for aging skin. After all these years, an eye cream isn’t still necessary — not for every type of skin, that is.
